"Protect Our Rights."
Witnessing abuses and remaining silent,
makes you complicit.
Representing the law and being violent,
still makes it illicit.
Show willingness to risk our lives,
to protect our human rights.
Letting one person's rights deprive,
will result in everyone's rights taking smites.

Title: "A Clarion Call for Justice: Unraveling the Depths of 'Protect Our Rights' by Ricardo Derose."
In my poem, "Protect Our Rights," I navigate the complexities of social justice, human rights, and the importance of individual and collective accountability in safeguarding these rights. It is a stark reminder of our shared responsibility in this struggle.
The poem begins with a confronting notion: "Witnessing abuses and remaining silent makes you complicit.
Representing the law and being violent still makes it illicit." These lines challenge the reader to reflect on their role in the face of injustice. They are a wake-up call to the grave reality that silence and indifference can be as harmful as the act of oppression itself. Even those who represent the law are not exempted from the rules of morality and justice; their violent actions against the people they should protect are equally illicit.
The poem's second part reads: "Show willingness to risk our lives, to protect our human rights. Letting one person's rights deprived will result in everyone's rights taking smites." Here, I urge the reader to understand that the struggle for human rights requires sacrifice and collective effort. It's a call to protect our rights and the rights of others, recognizing that the deprivation of one individual's rights is an attack on the rights of all. It is about solidarity and understanding that human rights are a collective responsibility.
In conclusion, "Protect Our Rights" is a powerful call to action. It urges us all to play our part in the fight against injustice and to never remain silent in the face of oppression. We must always remember that protecting our human rights and the rights of others is a shared responsibility. It is not only for the well-being of individuals but also for the overall health of our societies.
